Colli della Romagna Centrale (DOC)

omagna is an extraordinary land: a place where the most contrasting expressions of the human soul - from the most refined thoughtfulness to the most unabashed thoughtlessness - live together.

This is reflected also in Romagna's production of wine: You can find here the easiest wines, which can be drunk like water, as well as the most complex ones, which are certainly more suitable for meditation than for popular feasting, like certain white dessert wines of Albana.

In this context of big contrasts, great attention has recently been paid to the production of quality wine in a small hilly area between Forlė and Cesena, where noble vines like Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon have been introduced and placed alongside the traditional varieties of Sangiovese and Trebbiano Romagnolo. The results have been so great, and obtained in such short time, that this tiny area has drawn the attention of wine experts throughout the country and has become unexpectedly successful from a commercial point of view.

The D.O.C. appellation was awarded in 2001 as the natural coronation of the efforts of a small group of producers who have mastered the right mix of innovation and a traditional heritage that has been transmitted from father to son over the centuries.
