Esino (DOC)

lthough Esino is a new wine that obtained its D.O.C. appellation only in 1995, the area where it is produced is known for its great winegrowing tradition and excellent wines, which include the Verdicchios of Castelli di Jesi and Matelica and the Conero and Piceno reds.

Esino D.O.C. can only be vinified from grapes produced in the vineyards of the provinces of Ancona and Macerata, in the central Italian region of the Marches, where the Verdicchio di Matelica and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi are produced.

The Esino generally has low alcoholic content when compared to other D.O.C. wines produced in this area. It is much appreciated for its freshness, balance, and piquantness and can be served with a wide variety of dishes.
