Conte Vistarino

The estate covers more than 2000 acres (including 450 acres of vines) in the Oltrepò Pavese, an uncontaminated oasis of nature only about 40 miles south of Milan. Carlo Giorgi di Vistarino introduced Pinot Nero here late in the 19th Century, and the Oltrepò came be erenowned for it. Indeed, such is the expertise developed over the years that this most distinguished of international grapes is considered to be a local variety. The estate grows a half-dozen other varities, but Pinot Nero from the hillside vineyards of Rocca de'Giorgi is its flagship, made into sparkling wine as well as still red and rosé.
