Tom Hyland
Bio
Tom Hyland is a freelance writer, photographer and teacher specializing in Italian wines.
He has made 45 trips to Italy, covering wine regions throughout the country.
Currently he writes articles on Italian wines for Sommelier Journal, Quarterly Review of Wines and Decanter. He also publishes a subscription quarterly publication called Guide to Italian Wines, which he has been writing since 2002. This guide contains reviews of the newest releases of Italian wines that he tastes on his frequent trips to Italy.
Also writes the blog: Learn Italian Wines (http://learnitalianwines.wordpress.com), devoted solely to Italian wines.
As a freelance photographer, he is represented by Cephas Picture Library in England, the leading photo agent for wine images. His photos have been featured in Decanter, Quarterly Review of Wines and various wine catalogues in Europe.
Has been in the wine business for 30 years, the last 12 as a freelancer.
