Author and wine writer, New York, NY

Anthony Giglio is a New York-based wine expert, journalist and educator whose reputation is founded on being one of the funniest, most entertaining and least-threatening wine authorities on the planet. He has written several books, including Food & Wine Magazine’s Wine Guide 2009 (American Express Publishing), the annual guide to 1,000 wines from around the globe, as well as Cocktails in New York (Rizzoli) and several editions of the enormously popular Mr. Boston Official Bartender’s Guide (Wiley). Giglio is an award-winning contributor to numerous publications, including Food & Wine, Travel + Leisure, New York Magazine, Esquire, Details, Time Out New York and Parade. He was the longtime Wine Critic for Boston Magazine, and covered all things liquid for Trader and Deal Maker magazines for much of the aughties. Giglio has dished up restaurant critiques for Robb Report and Worth magazines, and was the dining critic for the New York Sun for five years and New Jersey Monthly for a decade. He has investigated male (bad) behavior for Redbook, Mademoiselle and Marie Claire. Giglio is a wine correspondent for CBS News Radio and guest host of the daily Connoisseur Corner Wine Report on its Boston affiliate WBZ. Giglio is the “Nightlife” editor at Wine & Spirits Magazine, as well as the on-demand “Online Sommelier” for Departures Magazine and Food & Wine Magazine’s Connoisseur Club. He is retained by a number of corporations to lead educational wine and spirits tastings and dinners including American Express Publishing, Condé Nast, Time Warner, and the Private Wealth Management division of US Trust / Bank of America. He also leads wine tours of Italy with Authentic Sicily. Giglio is a member of the Wine & Spirits Magazine tasting panel, and a former board member of the Sommelier Society of America, from whom he received his Diploma in Service in 1992. His expertise have been cited in the New York Times, New York Daily News, The San Francisco Chronicle, New York Newsday, USA Today, and Reader’s Digest. He has been interviewed on CNBC, FOX News, WCBS-Radio, the Food Network, the Style Network, and Fine Living.
